Just in case you were wondering...

Thank you, Pinterest!
I attempted running today.  Even went uphill.  Hated it.

I even had to create a new exercise in Lose It! for myself:  "walk/jog  < 5 MPH" ... because Lose It doesn't have a category for "jogging" (what the?), and the "running" category starts at 5 MPH.  I did 4.81, so that's that.

... but I will say this:  it is an efficient way to get a little more exercise when you don't have time to walk 6 miles.

And that's my deep thought for the day.

That quote over there -->
I told my mom when we were walking around the lake, and she loved it.  I do, too :)

  1. I love running, but only in theory. In reality it makes my knees hurt, and parts of me that I'd rather not be moving are shaking, jiggling, shimmying and bouncing like there's no tomorrow. Some people like that kind of thing. I don't.

    1. LOL! Yeah, I decided (after yesterday's attempted run) that I probably need to lose another 40 before I try to actually be a runner (if in fact I even want to attempt that). Between the jiggling and bouncing here too, and the extra weight I still have making my knees hurt a bit, I think I'll wait. Not like 2 months ago, but still -- they didn't feel great. I'm happy with continuing to walk, and in fact did 8 miles this morning :)

  2. Prolonged running stinks. I can't do it. I mean, I can and have done it, but never for TRUE prolonged periods of time. I run, I walk briskly, I run again, I walk briskly. Even when I was doing it regularly, I could never run more than a quarter mile without stopping to walk. I can sprint like a pro, but that's it.

    This is why I don't think it's always a weight issue. There are heavier people running at my local park that lap me time and again. You can see by the way they run that they are lighter on their feet. I run like a rhinoceros. Heavily. I half expect to see my feet causing imprints in the macadam. Its unpleasant and uncomfortable, so I don't do it. I get my cardio by walking briskly and/or with exercises like mountain climbers and burpees.

    1. Yes! Amen! I was a sprinter in high school (even did the hurdles in junior high -- long legs are an advantage for SOMETHING), and I swear I can't do long distances. I'm with you; I totally expect to see footprints behind me. LOL!

It's been a while.  A long while.  To catch you up, I broke my leg on the descent from a 14er in June.  It was a hard summer, but I&...
